Side light issues

Featured Replies

Hello, I was just wondering did anyone here experience issues with led sidelights, I had Ebay ones and they've worked perfectly but now I've tried Osram and Philip's LEDs none of which are staying on, they light up for 30 seconds then go straight off.

Thanks

Jack

I do but that's for other bulbs too, I got it with the last set of LEDs but the expensive sets dont seem to be working!

I've never had a problem with these and have had them in for ages without any error warnings too.

I purchased 8 expecting to need them and have ended up using two in my map lights and still have spares.

Thanks for the link, I had used Ebay ones before and they were great so I thought I'll spend the little more get something that matches the zenons, unfortunately I cant get them to stay on.

I read in a past post that the bulb test (which occurs on start up) will turn off the supply to bulb if the current is too low and then initiate a failed bulb warning. That is why you notice yours turning off after ~30 sec.

You need LED bulbs which have built in resistors, or add external ones, in order to increase the current to that of the original filament bulb.

These may well match your Xenon's. Only £2.49 for two to try, or £1.49 each. They are a nice colour imo.

As said, NO issues in my pre f/l.

Are yours the same bulb as these??????

I tried loads of different side light LED's all failed to work and showed up the bulb fault light on the dash, Had to wire the normal 501 bulbs inline with LED'S to make them work, And no dash warning..
