Have not been in a long distance drive since engine software update....However what I can say is....No problems with engine starting off at junction, roundabout or lights etc.   Seems perhaps a little slower on top gears but could just be me imagining it,    what I can say is total faith in the engine picking up now       Running great..

Thank you Victoria Garage Maud..You should tell Skoda Customer services about this mod as they don't seem to know nor does the Skoda Connect... Wonder if any point in Skoda Connect if they don't tell you of updates -especially one that could save your life!

Was considering ordering a 1.5 SEL but after reading about the software problems I think I’ll wait a bit longer and see what happens!

Very wise! If you keep your eyes on these pages, you will find out when/if the issues have been sorted.

Ok, further to my earlier post about Bristol Street Skoda Derby booking me in to do the software update. Well, it didn't happen, seems they have to do a diagnosis, send the report to Skoda if there was an 'event' and then they will be authorised to do an update. Only problem is they've now gone quiet on, no response to emails requesting a progress report. Added to that, the power failure problem hit again leaving me stranded with lots of cars waiting for the Karoq to reset and restart. I appreciate Skoda pulled the last software patch, but how long do they leave this? Until someone has a major accident? Seems so hit and miss between respectable dealers and those that just string you along.

Hi Everyone re my software update

I have not been on any long motorway drive since the village garage in Maud did my update, so I can only report back about 600miles of normal and 70 mph driving.

Yes it made a BIG difference to my car.   No more problems of the car having a processor freeze on acceleration coming onto a round about or starting off onto a junction..    I feel confident that the engine will now pick up as it should and I am now in charge of power not a CPU.    My mileage has gone up to 45.mpg on a mixture of journeys

very happy with This car.      Thank you small garage in Maud

i reported this back to Skoda Customer Service. But pointed out strongly. That Updates should have Been flagged on their info net, why would I pay for it ......If no update info like this or maps    That's what it's for isn't it?  Also how come a small village garage knows about an up date to the engine (and had it available)  where Skoda C S etc does not?

Info has not been passed into those nice Customer Service staff they say mmmm

@Biggles33

Is all well with your car now?

Hi Roottootemoot….  Yes the software update    seems to be a total success: I have had no more stalls or slow pick up at junctions /roundabouts.... Perhaps top gear pick up might be a percent lower but that could be my imagination.....In any case small price to pay for avoiding an accident.    I have not been on a long motorway drive yet but mileage on urban and duel carriageways up.

So very happy with car     Thanks to Village Garage Maud....Still annoyed that the so called Skoda info net that I got free for a year has not informed me of that update or new map updates which my son has put into the car.   Not the easiest for less  PC aware folk.

Come on Skoda what are you playing at why would I pay for the dongle and the 50 pounds for use of info net from Skoda...Perhaps I am missing something but as I said to Customer services it seems pointless to me as all it displays on the screen is NO UP DATES AVAILABLE ?
