Drivers side electric window controls not working

Featured Replies

Evening all,

I’ve had abit of a problem occur with my Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo MK2 (2011) drivers side electric window controls.

It’s been working fine ever since I’ve had it back in December, had been using it for a couple of hours today when suddenly my window controls just stopped working. Won’t work for either driver or passenger from the driver side controls nothing from them at all, but passengers side is working fine!

Ive been back home and checked the fuses and they’re all okay even swapped a couple around and for a split second it worked then stopped again.

Checked to see if they fuses and sections themselves were live and all is how it should be?

(The slot in which the controls sit in was always quite loose and if you pulled on one of the window tabs too hard it pulled the controls out but never broke)

Anybody got experience in this happening?

Could it possibly be the relay? Or something abit more expensive?

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

Jamie

Broken wires in the drivers door loom between A pillar and door, it is "repairable, but its fiddly, ideally a new loom should be fitted.

MANY MANY posts on here with the same issue

As above, usually the grey/white wire for the windows, I think. A repair is possible as new wiring is around £80 plus fitting, if you are not up to it. (1.5 hours labour). You need to look closely inside the rubber bellow that covers the wires, in between the door and chassis.

Before you start ripping out door looms etc, Have you had the window down or let any water get to the window switches? Under the switch itself is a very thin metal contact and the slightest it of water makes these corrode, Recently a friend had the same problem with his mk2 Fabia and we sorted it in less than 10 minutes.
