Skoda Fabia MK1 speaker replace

Featured Replies

Hi

Mine front door speakers are broken and i got an replacement for them with spacers/adaptors.

I wonder if i can connect OEM tweeters or do i need to replace tweeters too?

I got this KIT https://www.brl.se/sv/artiklar/gas-alpha-65-tums-kitsystem.html

I just wonder if i really need to replace the oem tweeters or can i just install the midbass and get stock tweeters to work like now?

My HEADUNIT is SONY cdx gt420u

Thanks

If the tweeters sound ok then leave them, if not then disconnect them.

Use your own ears, I can't hear it from over here.

Thanks for your answer. I just wonder if it works to use stock tweeters or do i need to add new tweeters that came with the package? There was 4 cables connected to the speaker and 2 for the tweeter. Can i use 2 of them for midbass and 2 for tweeter or do a need do it other way?

I notice a small box in the kit shown in the link which I assume is a crossover unit, if you want to use this unit you should replace everything following the instructions provided with the kit, only two of the connections to the original speaker will be the sound signal from the head unit, the other two probably go to the tweeter.

Yes sir that is right there is a 2 small crossovers  and only 2 cables Red and Red/Brown are there when removing Tweeter.

So now i need to connect Midbass to the Red/Redbrown cables from HEADUNIT and those other 2  cables from new tweeters? Should i connect them on same cables as Midbass?

You need to connect the crossover input directly to the head unit, then the two speakers to the crossover outputs separately.

I assume there are six connections on the crossover.
