Other hobbies

Featured Replies

Hey i just thought id ask what other hobbies everyone has. I love to fly my R/C helicopters using my R/C cars when i can as well as doing stuff to my skoda. What else does everyone do?

also no they r not toys the cars do 40mph+ and the helis can be dangerous if not used with respect

Amongst other things, mountain bikes: Fitness, hooning downhill, the outdoors and a lot of fettling mechanical bits.

There was a thread on here recently about "shameless nerd hobbies" - it was actually quite interesting ;) (in a shameless nerd kind of way)

erm...

Mountaineering.

Making things.

Websites and programming, tinkering on pc's.

Some say being grumpy is a hobbie of mine.

Power kiting; although not for a while now.

Skiing; again not for a while.

I'm a hobbist in cycles, I'll come back to each one eventually and enjoy it for a while then find a new hobby, pursue etc...

I always wanted to get into flying RC helicopters, never got the my self build to fly right though...then I left home and it was in storage never to see the light of day again :( Although it may go on ebay; I really should give it another go...just need a new starter and glow setup...umm ut oh...

I race RC cars as well. Its a great hobby isnt it.

I also do Karate, running, swimming, cycling and going to the gym. Not sure if thats a hobby or an obsession though.

Running, weights, iron man competitions, triathalons... [Edit: The above post wasn't there when I wrote this - not taking the p1ss!]

Well, I do go running and play with my dumb bells occasionally!

Also like drinking beer, love comedy events and the local music scene, reading and tinkering with all things mechanical & computerised. Occasionally I have time to talk to the missus too :D

I understand those R/C choppers are a real nightmare to fly on account of the fact that if you are flying them towards you have to operate a whole load of controls in reverse.

Mountain bikes, golf....and golf.

I race 1/12th Scale electric RC Cars! The F1 of RC Car Racing! They are bloody quick! Helicopters scare me, I just keep seeing it has one big lump of money that will crash and explode into the ground when I get it wrong! And I probably would :)

Ooooo, that helicopter looks impressive

I'm not going to divulge my 'other hobbies' as i let too much slip on the other nerdy thread :o

I have Electric R/C helicopter (micro) and they are VERY difficult to fly. Imagine holding a large pane of glass in front of you and then someone puts a ball bearing in the middle. Now, all you need to do is keep that ball in the middle !!

I use a simulator on the computer as this really helps. Very exciting hobby.

Not really got any anymore!!!!

Past includes Basketball, badminton, golf, snooker.pool, nine ball, mtb, rock climbing and anything for the buzz......best was bridge jumping.

Running, Bouldering, did the odd bit of caving towards the end of last year , although i learnt very quickly that being cold down a dark cave doesn't excite me in the least bit, it just makes me want a nice home made lasagne more.

Umm other than that...playing pool, drinking and alot of dirtjumping/downhilling. Going to take up orienteering next semester seems amusing given i can't read a map to save my life.

Spend too much time trying to sort this out and keep it running ...I suppose that counts as a hobby :D

Let's be clear here, you talking about the tractor?
