Fuel cap not locking with door locks

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I've just noticed that the fuel cap on my skoda rapid spaceback isn't locked even though the car has been locked. Is this normal or something has gone wrong. Everyone here has been kind and helpful in the past so I thought I should know before going for repairs.

Thanks

AN

If you have a locking petrol cap there's a good chance the flap/fuel door isn't the locking type. My Toledo has the locking cap not a locking flap.

No neither has lock. The car is 65 registered and is pretty recent. It's weird that the flap doesn't lock with the central locking.

If you haven't had it from new it sounds to me like someone lost the locking fuel cap.

My 2105 locks with the central locking.  If I open the flap I can see a black knob that you push in.  If I push in and hold it there, then press the fob  to lock, it stays in the locked in position.  I can feel the knmow being energised when it locks

FYI, my Jan 2014 Rapid Spaceback has a locking flap that locks with the central locking (and a non-locking cap).
