Just fitting dash cam to my new (to me at least) vRS 230.

 

Went to put the glovebox back on and found a square trim approx 4cm x 7cm sitting in the glovebox itself.

 

I didn't remove it and it wasn't there before. Can't find where it fits! Any ideas?

Tilt the rear seat backs and you'll see where it goes on the side.

Comes off one of the rear seat sides.

Mine falls of very time I tilt the rear seat - might just throw it away 

 

My passenger side one came off within a few months of having the car. A smidge of superglue and it's stayed in place since.

I have wondered about this part for over 2 years!  I know now!
