Hi all, I’m picking up an estate SE L with 18 zenith alloys, I need a proper spare wheel so as not to use a skinny limited temporary one, I want a steel wheel 18 inch but cannot find one anywhere online and losing the will to live, any ideas preferably steel to keep costs down but ally if necessary. Fist post so be kind.  Thanks.

But I cannot mix a 17 inch with my 18 inch alloys, so it wil probably have to be an 18 inch alloy spare then?

You just need a different tyre to get the same diameter as the 18” wheel.

U can, for a "temporary" period of time, hence why it's called a temporary spare.

 

I have 19" alloys on my Superb, with a factory 16" spare. At least it's not the skinny bicycle tyre version.

I believe taxis have to have full size wheels, for everyone else they come with (when paid for as an option) they come with 16” (c/w a 205/55/16”) or IIRC the skinny 18” for the 220 & 280

For my last Mk3 Superb, I purchase the steel wheel from https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/ I've also purchase a spare set of wheels from them for my wife's Yaris (winter tyre use)

WIthout looking I believe my spare is a 16 and the alloys are 18.  ACC doesn't work with it fitted.

Just buy a second hand factory 18" Zenith rim off ebay or from a scrap yard. They come up quite often. I've done that for my last two Octavia's when I need a 17" spare for my SE and then an 18" spare for my current VRS.

Problem is that a full size 18" whhel/tyre will not fit in the spare wheel well, though someone posted pics of how he modified his to fit, although the height remained an issue.
