1.2L Skoda Fabia taking on the Mongol Rally 2019!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm part of a team from Australia taking on the Mongol Rally 2019 in a 2005 Mk1 1.2L Skoda Fabia Estate. We've purchased the car in the UK (sight unseen over the internet - hopefully that doesn't come back to bite us!), and our team will be picking up the car next weekend just outside of Birmingham. One of the team will be taking the car up to Scotland for a 2 week trip with his girlfriend, then we'll be meeting up in London for a few days to do a full service and make the car rally ready (sump guard, roof racks, light bar, maybe a lift kit, a decent set of speakers, and a rattle can paint job!).

We'll probably be using this forum to troubleshoot a few issues (I'll definitely make sure to use the search function before posting), and we're looking forward to taking our mighty steed a third of the way across the globe!

If anyone has any tips, recommendations, or potential pitfalls that we should look out for we'd really appreciate your experience and expertise.

Cheers,

Oscar

A warm welcome to the forum Oscar !  Good luck with rally, we expect great results👍
