More differences then. That figure listed was based on a March 19 car.

Early cars don't have the GPF, then again mine doesn't have any part of the original exhaust either.:D

The problem is 90% of dealers can't tell the difference between a 1.6 Tdi and a 245 petrol.  They just don't do there homework   all they see is  £££££££££ signs

  • Funnily enough, mine went onto a white diesel estate too. Although, tbh, I think they look better on the estates.

There really isn't a visual way to tell 230FL with optional black pack and 245 (standard MY2019 model) which has the black pack standard apart both have 18inch Geminis and will have chrome exhaust tips. Also mine being a MY19 model has the GPF.

General clue a 68 plate is more than likely if its on 18s will be a 245 MY19, but that might not be the case ;) I'd imagine anything with a 19 plate will be a 245

But yours does have a vivid imagination, or is that the driver? 😈

Nice to see your back and your sense of humour is intact. Thought you had joined George in self imposed exile.

I have the View button and my 245 has the VAQ diff.

Because yours is a challenge. The MY18 245 without the view buttons all have the VAQ diff. If you want a sure fire way to tell without getting the full spec from Skoda it helps. All MY19 cars have the VIEW button instead of the phone button.

Mine isn't a Challenge  Mines a 01/03/19 Registered 245.

What's your budget?  There's a 230 for sale in Aldershot from the same place I got my 230 for a bargain price now.

I viewed it at the same time as mine but chose grey over black.

Dealer or trade? I also want roof rails, which further limits the choice. I too like Grey!

I think this might be unnecessarily confusing, because all 245 engined cars have the VAQ diff.

In fact it's probably got to the point where its easier to say which cars don't have the VAQ diff - PFL 220, FL 230. all TDIs.

It was trade...  they're part of a group and have a Skoda dealer about half a mile down the road, but they're not a main dealer themselves.

PFL hatch 230 with 45k for £14k.   It was £800 more when I got mine  a couple of week ago though.  However, just looking, it's sold by the looks of it.  Only one with roof rails is a 220 or diesel presently.

Saying that though, it's worth giving them a call there, they buy loads of cars, most are VAG from vwfs, lots of vRS and all about 2-3 years old.  They were excellent in terms of customer service and they generally try and get the rarer, top spec stuff in.  If you let them know what you're looking for I'm sure they'll either let you know when something comes up or maybe even look for you.

PFL 230s are pretty rare but they had 2 at the same time...

Thanks all.  Saw a facelift car today advertised as a 220ps with vaq diff. Turned out to be a 230 with no diff.  The search continues.........

They're out there.

There's a black pfl 230 estate for sale in the new forest is that's not too far?

This is the time that the pfl 230s will appear for low miles as they're 2-3 years old now and coming to the end of the original finance deals.

And all TDi Vrs owners want Black 19" Extremes to make their 181bhp oil burner look like the much faster petrols. Mine were bought by a white diesel estate.:o

Funnily enough, mine went onto a white diesel estate too.

Although, tbh, I think they look better on the estates.

As far as I have seen the only part of the "original, launch edition or non GPF'd 245 whatever you want to call it) is the SHINNY radiator grill. Everything else seems to be available to retrofit.

My hatch might be available soon, gotta test drive next week, have to see how "unfaithful" it'll make me feel, don't wanna feel "unclean" or anything.

It must be four wheel drive, over 300bhp so my guess is Mercedes A35 AMG.
