The problem is 90% of dealers can't tell the difference between a 1.6 Tdi and a 245 petrol.  They just don't do there homework   all they see is  £££££££££ signs

  • Funnily enough, mine went onto a white diesel estate too. Although, tbh, I think they look better on the estates.

Be careful if it's the 503bhp version. I can almost smell the skid marks from the Midlands.🚽

I won't have to smell it, I'll be sitting in it

But, its only a test drive right now.....

Let us know how you get on - I know it would be a fantastic car to have a go in.

More so than ever if you like it and want it is that an Alfa is one to rent and not chuck your hard earned into with a lump sum.. I'm not having anyone telling me you'll have a smooth ownership experience and they'll depreciate like stones. Some call it part of the Italian ownership experience something I've been stung by with motorbike ownership in the past.

Limp home mode 3 times in 9 months.. thats the Italian experience for you!

As far as I have seen the only part of the "original, launch edition or non GPF'd 245 whatever you want to call it) is the SHINNY radiator grill. Everything else seems to be available to retrofit.

My hatch might be available soon, gotta test drive next week, have to see how "unfaithful" it'll make me feel, don't wanna feel "unclean" or anything.

What about the piano black interior inserts? Did the FL 230 have those or faux carbon fibre?

I know my 245 has piano black, but pretty sure a FL 230 I looked inside whilst waiting for it to come had "carbon"  I assume piano black wasn't part of any package available on the FL 230?  Also the 245 has interior lighting in the inserts that you can change the colour of.

My Pre FL 230  ( 66 plate ) was a run off special build. My present 19 plate 245 has carbon Inserts with the lighting strips

Good point I always forget about the standard 10 colour choice ambient lighting in the 4 doors until I get in the wife's Karoq SEL which you have to pay extra for. It's the little details that make it feel special indeed.

Say I happened to know someone who wanted to be a phoney and spray his exhaust pipes black like the 245.... Where could  *ahem* he find a colour match for the paint?

Can't remember if anyone mentioned the 245 speedo reads upto 180mph which is a unique feature unless it has a virtual coc*pit which reads to 160mph unless you pay someone extra to code it higher like Sasha Grace's Vrs Tdi Estate.:blush

My VC reads to 180 and has the increments at 10mph not the standard 20 mph

It's View 5. ( there's 11 in total on VCDS I think )

Ask Sasha Grace she has already done this mod on her diesel Vrs think hers are powder coated to cope with any heat from the exhaust tip.;)

Awesome cheers man. @SashaGrace it seems you are the one with the knowledge.. can you advise on this one please? :)

I just had mine done in gloss black but I am not sure powder coating is the way with a TDi 😂

Slight track day issue 😆

Ah. Yeah, maybe that isn't the most fit for purpose route. I mean I can see that it looked pretty good before it was melted within an inch of it's life? :)

Oh dear my factory tips didn't melt fortunately.Sure the person that did the job just used ordinary non-heat resistant paint?
