The problem is 90% of dealers can't tell the difference between a 1.6 Tdi and a 245 petrol.  They just don't do there homework   all they see is  £££££££££ signs

  • Funnily enough, mine went onto a white diesel estate too. Although, tbh, I think they look better on the estates.

Simple then just paint one side.:blush

But it does such a good job of looking like a real VRS with both 😞

Until it gets cold outside and the person sitting behind you wonders why there is exhaust gas coming out of the left hand tip. Having said that some diesel owners have had twin back boxes fitted to alleviate this very issue.

hahaha of course. I don't think I'd go quite that far..

But the tuned oil-burners sound so good with proper exhausts! (😈 Do it, do it! One-of-us, one-of-us!)

Oh dear my factory tips didn't melt fortunately.Sure the person that did the job just used ordinary non-heat resistant paint?

No they went to a powered coating facility that only does powder coating. A lot of it has chipped off and it looks fine again. Next performance step is to go for a custom twin exit exhaust, get petrol tips and not worry about it. Then do something to the air intake and then custom map and DSG map. It’s a quick car but now I don’t have the AMG for thrills I need to do something :D

Ask Sasha Grace she has already done this mod on her diesel Vrs think hers are powder coated to cope with any heat from the exhaust tip.;)

They're on my 230 too .

Not that I expect I'll ever use either.

Lane assist is standard on all UK spec vRS’s but the PFL 230 and original 245 have the Sport HMI on the radio. My TDi has that now too, came in handy on the track but I rarely use it. Lane assist is a great extra though and I always have it on. I don’t use the adaptive guidance though.

MY2019 245s have Lane Assist.. I've tried it once.. no thanks. No lap timers or sporty gauges available on the infotainment standard.

Lane Assist is good for scaring SWMBO when you just take your hands off the wheel and listen to her scream.

Actually the only time I've found Lane Assist useful was driving a left hand drive VW Arteon rental car in Germany for work the other week.. all the toys were switched on including the speed limiter.. so everytime I went above the posted limit.. well what the infotainment thought was the limit (wasn't always correct) I got an annoying bong and warning. Anyway both useful help for me for driving on the wrong side of the car/road and km/h. To be honest after the first day, I'd adapted to driving on the german roads.. only thing I'd not adapted to was the terrible diesel engine lol

I've found the lane assist on mine to be pretty poor. Although thinking about it, I'm not sure how much of that is down to poor road marking?
