Falken all season tyres

Featured Replies

Are the Falken all season tyres  any good  , was looking  at the  205 50 17cross  climate but at 140 a corner  a bit out  of reach falken at 400  for 4 fully fitted

Edited by skippy41

I bought my 225/40 R18 Cross Climate+ for £105 a corner. I find it hard to believe 205/50 R17 will be more expensive.........

I've heard very good things for Falken though, never gotten around trying them.

205 50 17 is not as common as 225 40 18 for a tyre size.

The falken all season have two tread patterns out at the minute.

The older tread pattern is the 200 and the newer one is the 210.

Also look at the Vredestein Quatrac 5 for a good all season tyre.

This is also Asymmetrical unlike the Falkens which are Directional.

Thanks AG Falco

Cross climate plus are £117.46 each fitted at F1 autocentres,

so £90 saving on your quote

Cross climates or if you want a little more winter biased Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Gen 2

+1.  The Quatrac 5's are a great tyre.  I've used them across all weathers and surfaces and they've never let me down.  In terms of value.  I've put 21K miles on a set and the fronts still have ~6mm and the rears are ~7mm.

What width are the wheels?

Worth checking if you can go up to 225 width on them as 225/45/17 is the same diameter and far more common and therefore cheaper.

Assuming it'll go on the wheels I'd much rather fit premium tyres in that size.

I've used Falkens before (summer fk452s) and they performed well for the money but they wore out quicker so it worked out no cheaper.

For 205 50 R17 the Vredestein has both Quatrac 5 and newer Quatrac Pro

For the Falken go for newer AS210,

similarly with Goodyear vector, make sure they are newer Gen 2

If anyone is a Costco member (or knows someone who is ) you can buy 4 Cross Climate+ tyres for £310 fitted   or  £276 not fitted.  Cost is £83.98 per tyre (inc vat) + £8.40 fitting charge. Buy 4 tyres and current offer is £60 off.

Not sure how long the offer lasts but seems like a steal to me.
