As usual its the normal boring, bland experience they've had for years

There are a few complaints with the spec's but the most disapointing thing is the lack of any new colours to choose from really.

I mean just look

Where's Dragon Green ?, doesn't one want an L&K (as this is the model I am looking at) in Dragon Green ?

No new colours really at all which is a bit of a shame,  Black Magic Pearl' is new I believe but that about it ,  #BringBackBrunelloRosso😍

Other bits that just baffle me are  some bits that are not standard at this level in the range

Traffic Sign Recognition

To release the seats from the rear which is pretty much standard fair now , £95

And Hooorrraaayyyyyyyyyyyy , there's an alternative to Piano Black Trim

Oh, they are £105 and from the pictures on the website look, well ? , a bit bland

Although I am sure I will get put in my place, I would prefer some nice wooden trim like they have on the Scout (grumble not coming to the UK, (#DoItSkoda)

Here is what I just cooked up for fun, and this isn't even the 190 4X4

Ouch ..!!!!

Dragon Green has always been exclusive to the SportLine.

TSR has always been an option even on the L&K (but can be coded easily enough with VCDS).

About time one you had the choice of a different trim from Piano Black.

A shame they haven't extended the Dragon Green beyond Sportline

I know of coding the TSR in, thats why it just doesn't seam right when the sensor is there already there and at at L&K level to pay for it

It's defo is  nice to see something other than PBT for the interior , I hope it looks better in real life than it does on the website , the PBT was never cheap to replace from what I gather , it would have been nice to have either/or.

Because they know people are happy to stump up the cost of it. They’ve done the math and know that they get more money from people speccing it than making it standard and bumping the base car’s price up a tad.

Colour choice is really poor at this stage.  I understand some of the reasons for it such as cost and the fact that its a big in the fleet market but very disappointing all the same.

I don’t think Dragon green should be available across the range. It should remain an exclusive Sportline colour, Meteor grey should have been the same.

There should be colours that are specific to spec, such as some classy metallics and pearlescents for the L&K

i think your right about keeping  dragon green exclusive to the sportline,

when race blue became available across the whole octavia range, it became less desirable to vrs  buyers  😩

maybe skoda looked at the £££ signs though and decided race blue had run its course on the vrs, so time to cash in with other buyers, who knows.

Yeah I wouldn’t even mind the limited colour choices of the vRS/Sportline if they were kept exclusive to that trim level.

Having a bog standard Skoda Rapid taxi the same colour as your ‘flagship’ sports model lessens the appeal of the vRS/Sportline IMO.

Tbh I didn't consider this when posting and in hindsight you are totally correct.

And agree with your call for exclusive colours for the L&K as well ...

That would be nice , my love for the old Brunello Rosso stands firm it was a great colour when presented properly ...

Here's the Series 3 I regret not buying

Are the boring colours aimed at fleets or dealers who pre-reg

Last time I looked all the pre-reg for sale (which is all the ones that nobody had already bought, as they were the ones that hadn’t yet sold) were grey or silver (which is light grey) or white.

Perhaps it’s just me, have had 6 Skodas, none have been any of these colours.  2 were dark green, one a blue-green (2006 Octavia Mk2 colour, forgot it’s name), 2 petrol blue, 1 denim blue.    No black and white telly colours for me.

I have Petrol Blue because when I bought my car it was literally the only 'colour' available.  At least there's a red and a green now!

That pretty much illustrates my point perfectly.  Lovely colour

Some more of that.  Jungle Green is also a colour that suited the L&K trim really well, especially in an estate.

It's much the same issue for the whole Skoda range in the UK, not the same story if you take a look at the Czech configurator, loads of great colour choices there. It would seem that Skoda UK has put someone colour blind in charge of colour selection as most available colours seem to be black, white, silver or grey shades. I ended up with race blue in my Octavia simply because there were so few other colours to choose from. I would have liked metallic red or maybe a bronze colour, even a stronger gold colour than Cappuccino Beige but the only metallic red they offer is much more expensive for some reason. No imagination being shown here, if there are loads of colour choices available from the factories, surely it wouldn't hurt to offer more of them to the UK market?

I would  like to know how many of the more interesting colours are actually sold. Do Skoda issue that kind of information? I spend a good couple of months each year in Prague (frequent short work visits) and honestly can't remember the last time I saw a Superb in a colour not available in the UK. I did see a Bentley in a rather strange shade of magnolia outside the Hotel Pariz last week though...:)

At least Skoda Uk do offer a couple of colours, if you look at other makers configurators a lot of them only offer grey in all it's variations, i.e white through to black with no colour available at all.

There are a couple of cars other than the Superb that I would seriously consider it they were offered in actual colour.

Also goes for the interiors, I will not by a car with a black interior.

I've never owned a monochrome car. Black is for hearses. Grey / silver is so boring, looks ok in isolation but on the road in a line of other black / grey / silver it's just monotonous. First Octavia I had was rio red, then an Arctic green, then a denim blue. Now got a superb in Velvet Red. Yes, expensive, but worth it in my opinion, absolutely gorgeous colour.

Hi @themacster. It isn't yours that goes past me most evenings heading East over the M4 PoW bridge, is it?:)

The velvet red does look fantastic on the Superb.

red ...5th most popular car colour choice in the UK....Oh and the monotonous silver is 6th.  Talk us through that? 🤣

No, not me. Must be someone else with a good taste in colours!

No 1 colour is grey.... silver's effectively grey.

No, no, no. They are very different. I'm a silver-tongued charmer with a touch of grey at the temples, adding to the distinguished demeanor.

Either that or I have silver hair and a grey tongue.

I'm going for the former.
