Question about Bluetooth

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I'm new here so I'll introduce myself. I'm Ben and I've just bought a MK2 Octavia Vrs 2010, I am a vauxhall mechiaic and been into Italian cars up until then, so I'm quite a newbie into the world of VAG. Rather silly of me, I didn't look into this until I had got the car but I thought that the 'phone' button and the option for Bluetooth in the Bolero radio meant it had Bluetooth and after looking on here found out that it's not the case. So I'm questioning into changing the steering wheel for the Multi Function Steering Wheel but have a few questions.

(All of these questions presume I have VAGCOM or similar by the way)

Firstly: If you change the steering wheel into the Multi Function type then will the multi function display add the extra features which came with that wheel?

Secondly: is there a way to add the OEM Bluetooth into the Bolero Radio? I've seen kits which use the disc changer input to use as Bluetooth which is my current option but I think I've found the MDI connector ? In the glovebox. Didn't know if you can add modules from a donor car and program them to the car as would rather have a full OEM option.

Thirdly: Has anyone installed an aftermarket touchscreen in theese. With the OPS and Dual Zone climate systems in place. If so, does it get funny that it can't find thoose modules? And does the OPS system use the radio to produce the 'Beeps' for the sensors.

Sorry for all the questions! Looking forward to being part of this community! Cheers! Ben!
