Driving in EU and Adaptive Cruise

Featured Replies

I’m sure this has been asked before, but my Googlefoo is off today.

I’ve noticed my cruise won’t ‘undertake’ (I’ve always thought it’s a near-side overtake but hey ho). Which is handy, it’s a bit of a pain when the M4/M5 split and the M4 is slower, but that’s got to be near peak first world problems.

Does it ‘know’ when it’s in a LHD country?

(Also does anyone know if you can switch the headlights to LHD style?)

thanks

If you go to Car > Settings > Lights on the Radio there should be a tick box or similar to change the lights RHD or LHD.  **  If I remember correctly some Radio Units can do it Automatically Via GPS, or perhaps I've been dreaming again

Disclaimer  **  I think

Should be automatic with Amundsen or Columbus fitted.

(Also does anyone know if you can switch the headlights to LHD style?)  BiXenon lights switch automatically for driving on the right (no need to do this in the menu) but Halogen lights require masking.

Things you need to switch manually: Clock (time zone GMT+1) and/or Units (Imperial to Metric).

Just to answer this bit - a tap on the accelerator will allow you to 'undertake'.

Didn't know about this, I always change my Xeons in the menu. Good to know!

I've got a MY 2016 car with Bi-Xenon option and Amundsen fitted

Have to set lights in software -Car-settings-lights etc

GPS is set on my car buit doesn't change a thing- driven in Europe a few times now and has never changed automatically

I've noticed the ACC doesn't care about undertaking on autoroutes/autobahns etc. Driven at well over 50mph and was essentially undertaking in lane 3.

On my car I set the digital readout to km/h and it seems to let me undertake in the UK as well- even though I'm told this can't happen

U can disable the undertaking feature via VCDS or obdeleven.

I hated that feature, and have it disabled on mine.

Don't forget that Undertaking is a job where people deal with the dead. 💀

When you pass a vehicle on the left or right side it's overtaking.
