Skoda Connect - breakdown vs privacy concerns ?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I have recently configured Skoda Connect in our Kodiaq SE and it turned out when turning off the engine it says "Good buy [my name]".

I would like to get rid of the message (or change my name to something else).

How can I do that ?

Also what can I do / should do to limit privacy data transferred to Skoda ?

And does breakdown alarm actually work without Skoda Connect ?

Thanks

That's just to congratulate you in what you have bought! ;)

AFAIK the name is picked up from what you registered on Skoda Connect but I don't know if it's possible to change your username there.

My connect is not working again either on the app or via the Online portal.

Its really temperamental.

It also uses my name on the goodbye screen which is a nice touch. Does it break any data privacy laws, I strongly doubt it as you have signed up - however you may be able change your details or contact Skoda though I suspect you’ll have a job getting through to someone that can help.

Good luck

The only place where I have put my name is the account details. I wanted to change that but .... my wife had doubts if in any breakdown it will affect the service. Will it ?

It won't affect anything.

Just as an aside to @Greenliner1 and @New11, is the Goodbye Greeting your christian name followed by the first letter of your surname?

@john999boy Yes, first name and initial of surname.
