Octavia Scout 2016 Hadlex set up

Featured Replies

Apologies all if this has been asked before but does anyone no if there is a filter on the haldex set up, a friend has just had some work done on their TT, massive problems as the filter was missed by the mechanic, any thoughts welcome

Missed? As I’m not changed? Not surprising as VAG don’t see the need to change it so it’s not on any service schedule.

Well worth changing rather than just the oil at 40k for example.

Thank you for the response, The mechanic assumed the car did not have one (or did not check)when it did, this has affected the 4wheel drive on this TT, Audi want silly money to repair,  just wanted to avoid this on my Scout

Valdez 4 had a filter but Valdez 5 just had a gauze but it still gets clogged so always worth cleaning every so often

The TT had just about every Haldex version going so without knowing the age it is very difficult to comment.

As above the Haldex Gen5 on the Mk3 Octy does not have a separate filter only a gauze mesh over the pump entry. Not a bad idea to check it but you need a new seal kit if you take the pump out. The pump is not taken out and checked on a dealer Haldex oil change.

Thank Fylbynite, my friends TT was a 2003 model

That would have been a MK1 TT with a gen2 haldex. Separate spin on filter and oil.
