New VRS Challenge - accessories

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Great forum that I’ve enjoyed browsing over the last few weeks since I ordered my new VRS challenge DSG estate.

Its build date is this week - I anticipate collection first week of September.

I’ve got it booked into a detailers on delivery for a polish and ceramic coat, and I am now looking at a few initial accessories that I could do with some help on please.

1) can anyone advise the definitive part number for the OEM rear mud flaps to fit the VRS.

2) I would like a boot protection mat - my car will have the variable boot - in previous cars I’ve had the after market plastic variety with the “raised lip” around the edge - all have been fine. Can anyone advise a suitable equivalent for my new car ? I’m aware the OEM rubber mat is well reviewed - but it doesn’t have the “lip” !?

3) I’ve had car shades blinds in previous cars (Kia and Seat Leon), been happy with them in the past. Anyone unhappy with how they fit in the Skoda estate ? I’m aware of alternatives - with one

piece rear - but think these are more expensive and not so easily stored ?

Thanks for any other helpful advice !

i have the rear luggage holder thing in the boot that sits just underneath the retractable boot cover - its good for holding a brolly and a few waterproofs. i will try and dig out a part number for it - was around 60 quid but i think it is worth it

there is no part code on the shelf but i ordered it through the local dealership

edit - here it is http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-Combi-original-Skoda-boot-multifunctional-box

Rear Mud Flaps

5E0075101

plenty genuine sets on eBay.

When I looked at getting the rear mudflaps for our 2014 vRS the item code 5E0075101 said "not suitable for RS models" on 2 different sites, so I never ordered them. Anyone had any experience of fitting them?

The standard mud flaps do fit. They say they aren't suitable as they are more likely to scrape due to the lower car.

I have them fitted on mine and I have lowered the vrs, and I don't find them a problem, though they do occasionally scrape certain speed bumps (Morrisons Hillsborough Barracks, I am looking at you)

Many thanks for the information. I will give them a go.

Just spent half hour with some foam mats and a knife. Result is not perfect but cheap and as it's tiled it'll be easy enough to replace sections if needed.

Next version will have whole tiles down the middle for symmetry and to make it all join up better. I'll also look more closely at the boot lip section to get it more sculpted.
