So.... I wanted to do it, I did it, now I'm happy to share the resulting pictures.

The car is only a 1.4 tsi but I'm planning on changing a couple of things to personalise it.

Thank you. I wasnt keen on the mk3 spoilers myself, luckily I found this mk2 in race blue on eBay. Bit of a PITA to drill the holes but it's screwed and glued on now.

Thank Jebus for inventing the magnetic pick up tool

My Vrs245 is hard enough to keep clean being Black Magic but cleaning under the small boot spoiler is much harder than it would be if they had fitted a taller version like the Mk2. Probably gives more downforcw being taller as well.:wall:

I would think the spoiler on a Vrs is mainly cosmetic.  I doubt it would give surficiant down force for any real gains

Did you take any pictures of the bolts from the inside of the boot. I just bought the same spoiler for my mk3 and would like to see where the bolts came through.

Thanks @Chris-on-toast for posting this!

I think it looks good. :)

Realise this is an old post now but did you have any tips for how you lined up the holes?

Ive got a Mk3 spoiler to go on mine but now wished I went for the Mk2 seeing it on your car. I have the same colour as well.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi chris firstly spoiler looks great on the car .. can i qsk did you hit many issues with mounting or did it fit well ?... and did you have to redrill new holes to make it fit ?

I have a mk3 vrs and really like the mk2 spoiler or the mk2 wrc version do you know if it could be made to fit

Hi Chris

I know this is an old post but I have been considering doing this to my Mk3.5 vrs. Can you tell me how easy or otherwise it was to do and what was invovled to get a decent fit please?

Many thanks
