Luggage door opens \ I put gear to R

Featured Replies

Hi every one.

I had it todat and a few days back.

When I put the gear to R in order to get out of my parking I heard the ele' motor of the luggage door working. I went out to check and found the door open. The engine was running (keys in). I closed it and when I put again the gear to R it all happaned again.

As I said the engine was running and no one touched the keys.

Any idea anybody of why , how and what to do?

Perhaps a short between the reversing lights live and the boot actuator?

Hi.

Don't know yet. Will check it, but seems like impossiable to be.

I have a similar problem on my 2011 Superb. Although my problem is that the actuator moves the pin back to open position after approx 8 seconds after I close the boot. Door still stays shut though (locking mechanism in the door works fine). If I disconnect the wire connected to the actuator and connect it within the said 8 seconds it happens again. If connected after 8 seconds have passed. it stays shut.

This happens regardless of engine running or not....

Actuator is part number 4F9 827 383 E

Good morning lads.

Yesterday I went to Skoda main service garage and told them of the problem I have. Of course they were astonished to hear and thought I puling a joke on them, but when they saw it happen no one laughed anymore.

To make  a long story short.. just look at the harness they took out ...

Some body is going to pay for it....

@Hiliks50

"Some body is going to pay for it...."    Yeah you🤑

The failure of the wiring loom in the exact same position as yours is a common weakness on the MkII Superb Twindoor...

Is the car an estate with single bonnet or hatchback with twindoor bonnet?

In the picture above (with the broken wires) the roof is visible. And there are no roof rails. So it's a hatchback. With the common wiring fault.

The internal struts are also visible, that are otherwise hidden by the trim and that operate the saloon / sedan mode of the Twindoor system.
