Sorry, more Q's for the Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

Right... went to a dealer in Rugeley (Staffs) on Sunday to show the better half round one so she could become as much a lover in them as i am and the good news is she loves them, her exact words were "cool" "i like that" "i love this" "jesus i could live in that boot" etc etc... you all know what i'm talking about !

My problem is now finding the best one for my budget.

I've done a search on the Skoda web site for all the silver RS' in the UK with less than 20K miles (this is ideally the highest i want one to be) and i've found 5.

Mileages ranged from as little as 6K right up to 20K, the ages went from 01 to 03 reg's, which is all good stuff.

What i wanted to know was, had anyone had really good results from using a particular dealer with regards to new or nearly new cost for the car and then after sales service ? i'd prefer to buy one new of course, but i dont think i could push the budget high enough to get the 15+K they cost from the factory, so i'll more than happily settle for a nearly new or lightly used one for as best a price as i can get.

Last Q is, does anyone know of or has anyone used a product for scotch guarding or protecting the light coloured carpet in the vRS ? i was thinking of asking the guy that cleans our carpets at home but i wondered if anyone has any good comments on off the shelf products?

Thanks in advance for the help i know you'll give ! :p

I had sureguard applied inside and out and to be frank I am wondering whether it was worth the money. I question the dealer application and will be referring to Sureguard themselves for an appraisal of the treatment application.

get the car with the lowest miles, the youngest age and the lowest cost.

Hi Nigel, welcome to Briskoda

If you check out this link, it'll give you more about cleaning/protecting the dreaded light grey/silver carpets:

With regards to dealers, ther is a poll of dealers on the site too, it's worth having a look through to find the dealers where a vRS is located, to see what sort of a reputation they have. Have a look here:

Hope that helps, I've had a vRS for a month now and believe me, you won't regret buying one - good luck!

Andy

You could probaby get a brand new one without any extras or special paintwork for around

I view posts in the order shown in new posts, hence my post! I didn't have time to read every post outstanding at that time. satisfied? grumpy.gif

(Adds TaviaRs and wilsonan to 'don't bother to be helpful to them' list. :D )

For servicing etc use Autosales Skoda in Bilston. They are the business. I'm not bothered about naming and shaming, so don't use All Electric near Weoly Castle or the Skoda dealership in Smethwick. They were both useless.

I feel left out now. :(

A large milkshake at McD's would do nicely instead, thankyou! :D

If you really want to be on the list, Des, I can swing it for you. However it could involve another large milkshake. :D

GENIUS!

On a more serious note... (slightly pee'd off at missing Denis' post)...

Quite often finance arranged through a dealer for a brand new car can be cheaper in the long run than that offered on a nearly new especially if you are financing via a bank loan.

But the major advantage of a Bank Loan is that the car is yours, and not the property of Skoda Finance etc, until its paid for ;)

I was thinking along the lines of a bank loan for the reason above, but i suppose it depends what sort of deal i can get with a dealer.

i'd rather have a new car purely so i know how its been driven and looked after from new but i'll see what i can afford / sort out in the new year.

The dealer in Bilston sounds like a plan though, being from Walsall, Bilstons only down the road so its convenient too.

Doesnt hurt to keep looking and dreaming in the mean time though huh !?
