I need Bolero Update :-)

Featured Replies

Hey Pab,

I'm wondering if you can provide me info about my Bolero unit, screenshot attached.  My question is if it's possible to add/activate Smartlink or Android auto support on my unit and if so, how ( I suppose SW update won't do the trick). There is just Mirrorlink option in menu, which is pretty much useless without an outdated selection of phones according the skoda compatibility webpage.

Also, if there is and update for my unit available, what it can actually improve? I have no issues with the unit except I would love to mirror navigation from my phone somehow...

Thanks for your time

Hello, by reading this thread I understand there should be an update to the Bolero in my MY'15 Octavia 5E (attached), currently in SW 0245 .

I seek to resolve a bluetooth AVRCP issue where song titles are incorrectly displayed (previous song title shown)

Can you please confirm and if possible give me a link?

Thank you!

Unfortunately there is no newer software version for your unit :(If you want to have SmartLink, Voice Control or Rear View Camera you must replace glove box unit either with Bolero 5Q0035842x or Amundsen 5Q0035874x (x - leter A, B or C).

Thank you @pab567 for your answer. Would you happen to know approximately how much it would cost for a replacement unit and fitting? Am based in the UK. Appreciate your help 👍

Approximately 200 GBP for Bolero and 300 GBP for Amundsen (plus shipping).

Thank you, guess that’s not so bad all told. Will look into it, thanks again for your help 👍

Hi @pab567 - you seem to be the guy to ask, is there a software update I can apply myself to the Bolero unit on my Mk II Octavia? (picture attached)

The issue I'm trying to solve is the unit refusing to read memory cards with lots of folders in, but my old Octavia (which was a year older than this one) read it all no problem so wondering if it's a software issue, or at least to rule that out. (It's literally the same SD card, and tried others too).

Thanks in advance for any help!

Indeed, there is version 0011 - I sent you link via PM - however it requires either ODIS or VCP to have this unit reflashed via OBD.

Thanks very much! Much appreciated. I don't know what ODIS or VCP are (apart from having a quick Google just now) - what's my best course of action? Do I need to buy a gadget to plug into my OBD port and some other software? Cheers.

Could you please help me with the latest software for my Amundsen MIB2?

  • 2 weeks later...

Could someone help me how to activate Smartlink? My Octavia 3 (2016) shows smart link in the menu, but it needs activation. Does anyone some hint how?

Any chance someone sends me an update for mine. Would be greatly appretiated

@HingAmHang tell me model number and SW version of your unit, you can find it in menu

Hello,

I have recently bought the new Skoda octavia (4th gen 2021)

recently, while driving I suddenly get push update notifications.

I pressed on “UPDATE” and got a screen with two options USB1, USB2.

Can I update the infotainment system firmware using this interface?

Is there any way I can download the firmware file to a USB drive and flash the firmware without taking my car to service?

Note that my VIN number shows there are no updates (Maps) for my vehicle while applying it on the Skoda update portal.

Bolero infotainment,

10 inch screen,

Octavia “Style” model,

VIN# TMBAR7NX3MY125820

and I live in Israel, if that is of any help.

Thanks in advance,

Golan.
