@HingAmHang tell me model number and SW version of your unit, you can find it in menu

@pab567 Hello man.. I was wondering if you could some how help me with some issue..

I would appreciate any help!

I have recently bought the new Skoda octavia (4th gen 2021)

recently, while driving I suddenly get push update notifications.

I pressed on “UPDATE” and got a screen with two options USB1, USB2.

Can I update the infotainment system firmware using this interface?

Is there any way I can download the firmware file to a USB drive and flash the firmware without taking my car to service?

Note that my VIN number shows there are no updates (Maps) for my vehicle while applying it on the Skoda update portal.

Bolero infotainment,

10 inch screen,

Octavia “Style” model,

VIN# TMBAR7NX3MY125820

and I live in Israel, if that is of any help.

Thanks in advance,

Golan.

Thanks very much! Much appreciated. I don't know what ODIS or VCP are (apart from having a quick Google just now) - what's my best course of action? Do I need to buy a gadget to plug into my OBD port and some other software? Cheers.

I recommend to find in your area someone who has ODIS or VCP (Vag Can Pro). You can also visit your local Skoda delaer and ask to programm your unit using ODIS.

@Golanl1978 I beleive the process should be explained in your car user manual. If you don;t find it then rather check with your local Skoda dealer as I am not into MIB3 infotainment systems at all.

Thank man!

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and have just got a 2017 Kodiaq.  Are you able to tell me if there are any updates for my system?

Thanks in advance

Awesome thanks man.

Safe enough to update? I assume it's much the same as a maps update?

Any patchy notes for each version online anywhere?

I have Skoda Rapid 2016. When I use CarPlay I can see album covertart when playing Spotify/Tidal. When playing via Bluetooth I see Bluetooth icon instead.

Can I fix this with firmware update or do I need new hardware?

Hi @pab567

Are you able to tell me if is there an update for my bolero? Could I  use smart link in it?

thank you in advance

Yes, you can use SmartLink if it is activated (if not you must have it activated). For SW update link check your PM.

Dear Pab567, greetings from Colombia,

Thank you for your help, you are very kind. I hope the update does not cause issues in my infortainment because I am in Colombia.

I will update my bolero today!

Regarding  SmartLink activation, a code is requested when I try to use. I asked the dealer by the code bur they say it is not installed in my car. It is necessary to install a aditional module in order to have smart link o it could be activated with software,

Thank you very much again,

Best Regards

Hi @pab567

I have updated my radio Bolero!

thank you very much.. Now, I have a new software firmware:

Hardware H30

Software 0367   (Before 0353)

Codec Media:  3141.0.0.2  (Before 3101.0.0.9)

And how you said, smart link was no activated.

You are very Kind!

@pab567, is there any update for me? Yesterday the screen froze (the buttons were still active, but no change on the screen) and this morning my car battery was exhausted, I guess because of this screen froze. Thanks in advance!

Disconnect your car battery for 5 Min. It supposed to work and get to the normal state

Bull****, no additional module is required, just the activation.

@pab567

Hi Pawel...   Just wondering if you have an update for the following Bolero in a 2018 Kodiaq?  We're struggling to get our Android 10 phones to connect via smartlink so we can use satnav from the phones so wondering if an update will help.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: the lack of connection to our phone actually looks like it might be because they are both Android Go based phones and apparently android auto isn't compatible with Go...   Doh!   A software update might still be useful though...
