Sorry...weather is awful atm, and the car seems to be permanently filthy :blush

The roads around here are covered in sh1te from farms, and now salt.

I've managed to get all the wheels coated with Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour, clayed the paint, then polished with AG SRP and finally sealed with AG EGP. It rained 30 minutes after finishing...

OEM rubber floor and boot mats fitted, mudflaps on (mandatory due to the local roads), rear bumper protector on and debadged the rear. (The P A S S A T across the bootlid looked tacky, IMO!)

I'll certainly put some pics up when possible.

Is there a debadge option??...there was for my MK7 Golf estate...saved having to remove it myself.....& the C5 lasts ok....infact the crystal black serum does well..the cars 5yrs old now & its held up for 5yrs ok...!!

No factory orders are/were available - dealer allocation cars only, so no options possible. It's not an option on the configurator either, but TBH that's up the left anyway...especially as you can't build and order a car even if you wanted to!

Good to know re the C5 - black wheels are lovely, but a mission to keep clean.

Theres an article on your new car on the pistonheads website, decent write up too.

There is indeed and it puts the list price at £43k...nearly £20k more than I've paid recently for my vRS 245 dsg estate with £2k options.

The law of diminishing returns strikes again...unless there was a large discount on it of course?

Yep, *list* price.

Comparing the Passat *list* price to a heavily discounted Octavia price is a bit pointless...

After all is said and done, it's 4x4, a bit more powerful, roomier, has electric tailgate, handsfree tailgate, heated seats, DCC, ACC, lane assist, traffic jam assist, driver assist up to 130mph, Discover Pro (Columbus MIB3 equiv I think), 3 zone climate control, park assist with area view cameras, arguably and subjectively a higher quality interior, quieter, more comfortable (than my vRS anyway) and almost certainly better residuals...for £33k. Also bear in mind it's a 'new/facelift' model, whereas the Octavia is shortly to be replaced, hence exceptionally good offers on them.

No regrets here 😊

I don’t doubt in any way that you have got a better car and at £33k that would seem about right for the added worth over a vRS.

My only issue was that the list of £43k was too strong and I wasn’t aware that large discounts were available on VWs.

Enjoy the car.
