amazing how much help you get on this forum!!!

On the GTOUK club I was a member of there would have been 20 replies by now!

Anyway if anyone is interested I have found a place in the UK that sells the sports grills cheaper than the Milotec website!

:)

It's not Butts of Bawtry is it?

Butt's of Bawtry!

Why have people had problems with them?

Chill out dude!!

I think it's fair to say that although there are a few forum members with Superb's on this forum not many people mod them and therefore not many people have what your looking for on your motor?

I have never been convinced that any of the aftermarket replacement grilles look good on the Superb IMO.

I have to agree with Baker. Leave the front alone. Its the best look for the Superb.

The Autostyl stuff is truly hideous!!

3000GT' date=' welcome to the forum. We are a friendly bunch, and [b']IF[/b] we can help we will.

I also agree Baker. Those that do mod their Superb, tend not to have tinkered with the main grill. I've added the lower grill, but used the genuine Skoda part. Doesn't show up that well on a silver car, but on darker cars it looks better

I'm with Primey, leave it alone.:thumbdwn:

Calender? Link please!!

Sorry 3000GT, as has been said, we are a helpful friendly bunch. Its just that I've never seen a Superb owner on this forum with an aftermarket front grill. :o

Hope you find what you are looking for.

I think the Milotek one looks ace, I may get one for my Fabia... Makes the front end a bit more distinctive and aggressive looking.

Just Ordered from JHM butts and It came to a whopping £180 for three pieces!!!

The lower sport grill, the chrome trims for the lower front numper and the rear light trims - only parts they had in stock!

Apparantely the prices have gone up from those on the website! Well I kicked off and he agreed to do them at website prices so it cost me £140.95 in the end - still alot of money for what it is. well over priced, mark up at Milotec must be huge.....

anyways am going to order the chrome mirror covers from Dubstop and that will be it apart from maybe when i get the car I may decide to go for the sport grill and the rear boot strip.

Will also debadge the rear and put a light tint on the front windows to match the factory tinted rears.

then thats it! I wont touch the wheels as every car I'v had, I put 19's on and the ride would be like boucing peas in a frying pan and the standard 17' solid alloys allready have 45 profile which will allready send bumps to the cabin. so no big wheels and no lowered suspension dont care how tempting it is!

will post pics when i get the car

Look forward to seeing the pics mate.

I would love to see the photo's too. As a Superb owner I must admit that I don't like the look of the front of the car, everything is too high up if you know what I mean which makes it look too skinny. If you look at a Passat there is something about the VW badge being in the centre of the grill (as opposed to the skoda badge being at the top of the grill) that makes it look less top heavy. I am interested in anything that cures that so I personally find most of the kits an improvement, even if only a slight one!

Agree - I dont particularly like the front end of the car at all - but I love all the equipment hence why I am buying it.

Although I do think the aftermarket kits available are pretty awfull and tacky.

So to update the front end and make it look more classy and less top heavy with that big chrome grill I think the the Milotec Sports upper and lower grills are a discreet and classy option featuring just the right amount of chrome and discreet black mesh very much like the Audi A6 and other Audi models that have a very similar style.

although i will remove the Milotec badge from the grill so its totally plain.

And I can allways return the car back to standard when it comes to selling it and sell on the grills.

So i reckon there is nothing to lose!

Just ordered the sports grill and rear hatch trim from Milotec

and the Dragon performance box as its alot cheaper than Jabba and easily reversible:thumbup:

Just waiting for the damn car now! stupid dealers messing me about, sold it before they had V5 so cant pick it up till it arrives from the DVLA.:thumbdwn:

Here you go - my Superb with the Milotec grilles fitted. I hated the original front, but love it now. The badge I've fitted is an audi S-Line badge, but now it means Skoda-Line ! The Milotec badge was cheap and nasty.

I love what you have doen with the badge mate and your motor looks good.

I am still not convinced with the grille though, it just doens't quite look right IMO but hey, I like what you've done.

I suppose the idea of the badge being so high is just exaggerated more on the Superb because it's on stilts from the factory? I mean the Octavia and the Fabia grilles are the same?

If you want to get it looking that little different then get the chin closer to the road IMO, LOL!!

Hmmmm..... I'm not 100% sure now!

Thanks for the pics MichaelD.

Without the big chrome surround on the front bit that the grill mounts to, it looks big, ugly, jutting out like it shouldn't be there. i love the actual grill but with the original it covers some of that face jutting out which makes it appear smaller, but when you remove it looks huge!!!

I think I will try it , it may look different on a black car and the blue Milotec car looks really good so it may look good on my car.

Will have to see I can allways put on the original if I dont like it.

Michael how easy was it to fit?? reading the website it seems you have to cut the original bonnet release lever - is that really neccessary?

Will have to see I can allways put on the original if I dont like it.

Sounds like a plan to me mate, some before and after pics would no doubt get people talking on here and may help sway your opinion to keep it on or take it off?

I quite like the look of those pics but I still don't think it has cured the main problem that I have with it, it still looks too skinny. With regards to the badge comment I made earlier, I think the Fabia and Octavia both suffer from the same thing although not to the extreme that the Superb does. It needs more low down focus, everything leads your eye up too high and I think the earlier Milotec picture goes a long way to curing that. I still can't quite put my finger on it because I don't see the same thing when I look at a Passat.

Skinny? You mean the grille or just the front end of the car in general?

Still think that the Fabia and the Octavia just have squarer and deeper bumpers which cnage the whole perception of the car, the Superb is just a lot rounder at the front.

Sounds like you should be driving a Passat maybe?

I mean the whole front of the car and the roundness of the bumpers doesn't help you are right. I am still trying to convince myself that I bought the right car when I bought the Superb but every time I see one on the road, particularly with the Solids, I think it looks great. I really wouldn't want a Passat as they are too common and I would need to hang a jacket in the rear passenger window which I wouldn't do if my life depended on it! My reference to the Passat is purely to try and discover just what it is that is different about the two. Are the Superb and Passat bumpers the same shape?
