Can't remove detachable towbar

I hope that someone can point me in the right direction.

I have a Westfalia detachable towbar and on our return from a short holiday with the caravan I can not remove it. I have followed the instructions on putting in the key and turning the knob but it remains obstinately in place, no movement at all.

Should you push the knob in to turn?

Turn key anticlockwise
Pull out the knob and then turn clockwise
Pull down tow-bar.
If it does not drop tap around the socket with a hammer in case the balls are stuck

Bob  would be proud of you - off you go to The Corner.

And check on stock?  I don't think anyone's been there for some time

Bob's Corner is still frequented and stocked by members of a Yeti specific Forum.

Although sadly, Bob himself has not visited for some time.

Anyone heard from @Bobdog lately?

Really?  Bobdog wasn't a member there, was he, if 'a Yeti specific Forum' means what I assume it means?  A certain member with dual membership was possibly the last to have news of him.

I don't suppose you've heard anything lately, Graham?  He is remembered with some affection here

Apologies to the OP for staying off-topic a while

He was a member there but has not signed in since early last year.
