Multiple fault codes / wing mirror troubleshooting

Featured Replies

Hi i apologize in advance if this has too many questions :) I bought my superb, 3 months ago and because i bought it from dealer i have 6 month warranty for faults which have been in car prior when i got it. VCDS showed that there is some problem with heated mirrors and this was prior my purchase now we get to my problem with it. Left blinker was dead too and i changed it yesterday so stripped the mirror but typecode was worn out from sticker so dont know what to buy. There is multiple types, convex, aspherical, with anti-dazzle and blue tint etc and found same fault code in audi forums which indicated that it might be wiring also and not glass element.

Tried to find some test for mirror heating because it works only in low temperatures am i right? its so warm right now that mirrors wont heat. Found advanced measures where you can log it but dont know is it telling anything. When i turn mirror heating to ON from door knob, passenger side mirror heating calculated measure goes to 100% and stays in that -> same in drivers side it jumps from 0% to 100% for a second and drops back to 0%

fault code was its not showing now in attached auto-scan because i reseted it.

00920 - Heated Outside Mirrors; Driver Side (Z4) / Passenger Side (Z5)
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit - Intermittent
             Freeze Frame:
                    Fault Status: 00101100
                    Fault Priority: 3
                    Fault Frequency: 1
                    Reset counter: 131
                    Mileage: 177145 km
                    Time Indication: 0
                    Date: 2019.04.07
                    Time: 18:20:27

There is also bunch of other fault codes do you guys think there is others to worry about?

This is the forum for Superb 2, not 3.

On the Superb 2  -check for broken wires in the wiring loom. Part going into the door (inside rubber part), the part that bends 90 degrees every time you open / close the door.

Broken wire will result in intermittent problems or parts not functioning at all.
