door trim fitting

Has any superb owner had problems with the silver door trim on the rear doors?

I have been told by dealership that the rubbers securing these silver tims have failed and the trims have simply fell off whilst driving.

Hi, there is a thread on this which i cant find even though i posted in it!!!  From what i understand there has been many instances where the front door seal catches the trim of the rear door and dislodges it which can then get blown off by the wind.  When i saw it on mine i looked on here and discovered that it is or was, part of a recall, sorry cant remember the number.  Anyway, took mine to my dealer and they replaced the trim and the door seal under warranty without any real issues.  I'll have a hunt for the other thread and if i find it post it here.

Typical, couldn't find it before and found it in about 30 secs after last post, lots of good info here.

My off-side rear door seal started popping off, too. It was replace under warranty at last year's service. It's starting to pop out again a year later, not badly and not all the time. My warranty runs out in 35 days...

I've had reply from Skoda customer services, and because I didn't buy my car from a one of their dealerships then any warranty claim is not recognised. Apparently you need a dealership to sponsor any claim for faulty parts to be put right.

A joke or what

Not too surprised by that -  an opportunity to wriggle out of cost and hope you will wander off is their usual game plan.

If you're under warranty then just go to any dealer and tell them "Problem - look at this - warranty claim - sort it out please!" .  Not buying the car from one of their dealers is a bull**** excuse and not valid on a car that's is its warranty period. fight the buggers.

Its an excuse that only can work if the car is out of warranty and you are looking for some goodwill to reduce the cost of repair/replacement.
