Climatronic issues

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Right so ive been having issues with the climate control on my 2013 rapid 1.2 tsi. From first start in the morning and in weather where the cabin needs to be warmed up a bit the car starts heating when the engine starts getting to optimum temp as normal. Problem is it doesn’t stop, the air gets hotter and hotter and the fan speed increases, turns the bloody car into a sauna. However, turn the engine off and on again the system seems to realise and then start cooling to get to the desired 20 degree temp setting and then it works fine from then onwards, I can change the temp setting and the system reacts accordingly. Very strange, any suggestions?

I've had the exact same issue about 1-2 years ago. I have a MY14 Rapid, bought in Germany. It started showing up in the last few months of warranty.

In my case it was only happening during spring and autumn, only first engine start of the day (with a few exceptions). I guess it had to do with temperatures or humidity. Once it did it as I was driving out of the workshop's parking.

It only disappeared after a few visits to the official workshop. I have no clue what they did. My DTC readings were saying something about a flap getting stuck.
