Named Component Extended Warranty

Featured Replies

My Octavia will be 3 years old at the end of September and therefore out of warranty. It is going in for its first MOT next week. It has done just 31,000 Miles and apart from squeaky dried out rear springs has been fault free.

Yesterday I had an email from Skoda promoting the advantages of an extended warranty. The named component warranty appears to cover the expensive stuff like the turbo, water pump and clutch. The cost is about £15 a month which seems reasonable but I have always been a bit dubious of these warranties as the garages always have some clause up their sleeve!

Has anyone else taken out a Skoda Warranty? Is it worth it? I haven’t any intention of selling the car just yet although I like having a look around!

How did you manage that with coil springs!?

Also, is this a manual gearbox or a DSG? Clutch/flywheel on a manual will almost certainly not be covered.

Manual and coil springs. There was some crud in the cups where the springs sit and they were cleaned out and greased.
