Rum4mo After all the trouble it’s caused I never want to see another stop start mechanism. I will be happy to be shot of it . Seems counterintuitive anyway . I am assuming that I won’t be causing other problems by disconnecting the stop start? Where do I find the  capacity and CCA rating plz?

Rum4mo just wondering why you were keen to get it reconnected . I have only heard negative things about it

Stop/start will be here to stay for many reasons including emissions stasi lurking at traffic lights waiting to catch anyone daring to keep their engine running for longer than ?? minutes without moving.

Capacity is quoted in AmpHours and is written on the top of your battery, see your picture, also cold cranking amperes is quoted in DIN and also SAE and is in Amps again shown in your picture, note CCA in DIN and SAE are different so make sure you spot which one is being quoted as some manufacturers only quote one and not both.

Edit Capacity 59AmpHours   Cap 320DIN  640EN/SAE

Really I am only trying to live with it while disabling frequently when I consider that doing that more suits my usage of that car, plus while under warranty I did not fancy deviating away from VW Group design concept for that car.

Edit:- I get the feeling that people with DSG feel the need to disable it more frequently than people like me that has manual transmission.

...Mine is not stop start and no, battery disconnect will not affect audio. It will affect the window auto function but thats easily re-set.
