Mirrorlink and Sygic?

Featured Replies

Hi. Need help with mirrorlink sygic android working during driving over 10km/h. I have Octavia 3 style (bolero) 4/2019, galaxy s7. Navigation sygic  same phone works instantly on Peugeot 3008. But when connected to my skoda starting to drive turns screen black and something saying forbiden during drive?? Tried reinstal, different cable, certificates update, update system mirrorlink 1.1, car mode app, certificates clear (cache) and update...I have had same problem with previous sygic standalone mirrorlink app so they refunded me. Now i have bought new mirrorlink addon. Contacted sygic with no reply. Skoda licenced service didnt help. Also mailed them but no help. Country Croatia. Android auto and google maps and waze works - but are bad. Realy bad. Is there anything else I can try. Is there bug? As I can tell if working in  peugeot 3008 it should work in skoda? Both car buyed in 4th month 2019.

Any help appriciated.

Looks like a Škoda related issue. I have noticed lately that Google Maps navigation (on iPhone) does not announce guidance while connected to the car's USB port (Octavia MK3 FL with Swing 6.5 infotainment). Google Maps is configured to use Bluetooth for voice and car pairing is OK for calls. If i disconnect the cable, everything seems to be OK.

Do any other apps work in mirrorlink over 10kph?  Sounds to me like the mirrorlink is the issue stopping screen mirroring over a certain speed.  Why don't you like g.maps or waze?  I use both regularly through android auto and used to use them through phone holder before I got smartlink.

For sound it appears it needs to be increased volume - but try on wheel to increase volume DURING voice guidance tells something (you must gues when it speaks).

It looks like Škoda related issue. They didnt update mirrorlink or certificate. All works for me, also google maps over android auto forbids keyboard over 10 km/h. That I understand. But saying Sygic navigation is dangerous for me while driving means I will use it on my phone with phone holder and it would be even more dangerous. But when  I stop, sygic comes back on screen. So thats like knife I bougt but it wont cut - because i mighr hurt myself. Then dont sell navigation and remove infotainment from cars!

But Škoda shouldnt then advertise (or sell) Mirrorlink when it doesnt work! Whats the point?

I tried with galaxy s5 - same thing. Even rooted phone to change to lower mirrorlink version but dont work. There is on youtube some german video that it needs some lg app and mirrorlink 1.1 1.0.8 and thats last version not having problems with certificates. Man watches videos on infotainment - mirror everything.

Google maps and waze I find ok but sygic is real navigation. Offline with poi, speed cams I put, etc. Used google maps and it recalculates some odd routes, dont know some turns are forbiden... So I preffer sygic on phone holder over that. But Peugeot 3008 works great - must have that in mind next time I buy new car!

Only thing I dont like is Škoda telling me -my phone is not compatible, it is sygic, me stupid etc...It would be nice if they say - we tricked you and thats that. Since they give me no solution or smart answer or instruction what to do.

So I think Škoda bolero DO NOT have mirrorlink!

If anyone have mirrorlink that works -tell me!

Sounds like the car thinks you are trying to watch a video which it won't allow when driving so switches off above 10km/h.

I'm guessing it's to do with the format that sygic plays the navigation to the car's screen, so the car thinks it's a video.

Maybe there are people out there who know how to disable the video block at speed ?

Thats why I posted here! Sygic obiously dont have right certificate to be used while driving (at least for Škoda)...
