front sensors and Rear Camera

Featured Replies

Hi

Just had Skoda fit front sensors and a rear camera to MY18 Skoda Kodiaq Sportline (rear sensors are factory fitted and work). They fitted the rear camera successfully and this seems to work fine but the front sensors do not come up on the display i.e.. they are audible not optical plus there is no button on the console  to select/deselect  the sensors manually. Has anyone been down this road? Would you go back to Skoda and ask them to have the front optically displayed and a button added to the dash?

Are you sure they are OEM sensors and not just a generic kit?

Probably worth getting it scanned with VCDS or similar to confirm.

He showed me the packaging the sensors which had a skoda logo on them

If there’s no display it’s not OEM.

I specifically asked that the FR sensors were visible on the screen so as far as I am concerned they have failed to meet my expectations.

Probably coding issue.

Could be a coding issue or the haven’t fitted what you asked for. Does your rear view camera have the guide lines when you turn the steering wheel and the lens washer or have they cut corners there too.

it has the guide lines that turn but no lens washer

Skoda do supply a front parking sensor kit for the Kodiaq that isn't the same as factory fitted. Sounds like this is what you have had fitted.

How much were you charged? This the complete front system kit, with a rough idea on a fitted cost...

I was charged around £350 and its awful really sensitive, if a bee flew past it it would go off like a fog horn. However it has a suprising upside it does keep you awake on the morning commute.

Serious I was looking at the system you have highlighted above. I think I may get Skoda to rip the one I have out and put that one in, I don't think they are keen but I let you know how I get on.

Out of curiosity, since they insist the kit they fitted is a genuine Skoda item, please ask them for the Skoda part number.

ok so they are refunding me the money for the front sensors, now I have to try and get the ones above and someone to fit them.
