dragon tuning kit - problem - help!!

Featured Replies

my sister just put her dragon box on her fabia vrs (55plate). But after fitting it, the car wouldnt "spark" - it would just turn over.

so... she removed it, and now the engine light and coil light has come on - whats this mean?

You need to take it to your local dealer and use VAG-COM to check it out, probably just to remove the fault codes associated with using "tuning boxes" when they go pete tong, are you sure you wired it correctly??

there is only 1 way to wire it isnt there? black on black, red on red (battery), and then connect the connector.

You MUST make sure the connections are as secure as possible.

I believe the CEL can be reset with so many "drive cycles" (ie turning the ignition/engine on and off). Think it's either 3 or 5, but as others have said it sounds like it's not fitted properly....

Several possibilities:

1. No power connected to the dragon box - it needs it otherwise you'll get this

2. Same problem I had which is a faulty cable. Royal PITB this one.

n e more suggestions?

When running something like that it is advisable to have some way of resetting error codes either a handheld scanner or VAG-COM.

The warning lights will go out eventually, I had the warning lights on at first because I hadn't fitted the big round connector fully on, exactly the same symptoms as you, car wont start and warning lights on.

I found the connector really stiff, but after a carefull dose of WD40 the connector slipped straight on, after connecting that you should then connect the power cables then finaly put the in line fuse in. check to see if the little red light is on inside the Dragon box, if not theres a problem somewhere, if it is on but the car still wont start and all the cables are properly connected then you have a faulty box.
