disable central locking chirp?

Featured Replies

hiya, please tell me it's possible to disable to central locking chirp? Can you tell me how to? I got my 2012 Superb a few weeks ago and I really can't get used to the chirp.

Probably worth posting an autoscan from VCDS or similar to start with :)

Thanks langers2k I have no idea what that means, and a quick Google suggests that I can't do it myself.

No need to use VCDS, it is in one of the menus on the MkII Superb.

They claim not to have a maxidot, not sure what options a Superb came with so I'm not sure if that's plausible or not :)

Even the base level Superb's get Maxidot...

Ok, so the display screen between the rev counter and the Speedo is called the maxidot? I don't think so. The manual calls it the display. What the manual doesn't tell me is how to change the maxidot settings?

I control it  the display by pressing the button on the end of the windscreen wiper stick, and it cycles between temp, driving time, mpg, ave mpg, range in miles, distance in miles, ave speed, speed.

Nowhere do I get the option to control any of the settings in your image, which is on page 20 of my manual too thanks. 😊

At a guess, you should read the previous page of the manual.

I believe you need to press and hold the buttons on the end of the wiper stick to get back to the main menu. From there, you should be able to get to settings etc.

I had an s model and mine didn't have any setting to change either I did it through a dongle called carista

Maxidot is standard from the SE up, so you're right, no Maxidot on the 'S' trim.

No buttons on the steering wheel = no Maxidot...

Thank you! Yes I have no buttons on the steering wheel 🙃

So no way to disable the chirp? 🤔

You can either find someone local with VCDS, or pay £16 for Carista with a months free subscription...
