Polishing

Featured Replies

Being relatively short polishing the roof is difficult.

How do others do it?

tom

Its the first car I have owned that I need a step ladder to clean the roof and I am not the tallest person either. it provides entertainment for my neighbours when I clean the car🙂

I am short - and use a wash brush to wash roof - not polished yet - but I have a step stool - i made for motorbikes years ago (MX) - but would suggest something like this - larger than step

Wait a few years and you will be able to buy a drone that will polish the whole car...

I have a Roomster and need a step ladder to clean the roof and I am 5ft 10in. The modern trend for SUVs has this disadvantage.

I am waiting for my Karoq and currently have a Yeti. I hang onto the roof rails while standing on tyres or open the doors and stand on the sill, but I think the work platforms are a good idea if you have some flat ground to put them on.

Interesting link to the tyrestep.

If they hadn't driven the Land Rover onto the ramp then they would not have needed the step to reach the roof 😀

I am standing on tyres  ;)

Steps are great, or go to a stables with a climbing steps for getting on horses.

or,

Find a low wall, park next to it, climb out the door furthest from the wall, and get on wall & polish half of the roof,

then turn the car and do the other side.

Problem is if you have short arms as well as a short torso and short legs.
