Torch holder broken?

Featured Replies

Last night I needed my torch out and when I put it back it seems to have broken or pushed the top bit of plastic insert away and in towards the car.

I have just had to prize the torch out with a small screwdriver.

There seems to be a hatch cover above but I am not sure how to open it?

As I don't want to do more damage anyone know how to open it so I can see if I can push plastic fitting back into place. All seems a tad flimsy...

Attached photos for help explaining my dilemma...

That or my next trip to stealer will solve it (at cost no doubt).

You can push your fingers into the fabric hatch thingy and it can be pulled out or it might be hinged, it's quite flexi and I doubt you could damage it and then push the torch holder back into place......

Hmmm had a crack at getting it sorted but top plastic fitting does not want to hold it properly. The little door opened easily enough so that meant I could get fingers in to push it back. So thanks for that photo.

So better than it was but not properly fixed and I think it was like that from start. I will see if I can get dealer to sort it under warranty.

If anyone else has problems getting torch in and out I would be interested to hear...

So just been to my local Stealer in MK and was told that it is not a warranty fix and I would be charged £83.88 to fix it as it would need a new bracket and they would have to remove rear quarter panel to investigate.

The receptionist / service desk help said they have had one other and the person paid for it...

Now that has gotten me rather miffed as I have used the torch once, at night and tried to put it back and I can not think that I have the strength to break the bracket!!! Or if I do have the strength something is seriously wrong...

Was told they could do nothing more and to contact Skoda directly...

Before I do contact Skoda I am wondering how best to prove that it was an inherent fault and not me pushing too hard?

Anyone know how it is properly fixed? I will use my google fuu to see if I can see any info on this...

Just a heads up for anyone else I would leave the torch alone as the fitting does not seem man enough - Simply not clever...

😞
