Karoq boot without spare wheel ordered

Featured Replies

I'm waiting on my completely standard Karoq to be built but i'm wondering now if I should have ordered it with a spare wheel.

I would like to know how a standard Karoq looks under the boot floor. Does it have all the support/ storage for a wheel & jack? Can I just buy them off ebay or similar and add it later on? According to my order it comes with 'Storage on wheel cover' whatever that means.

Thanks

Phil

Your dealer can supply the kit to add the spare wheel consisting of tools, jack wheel, support polystyrene and mat for around £250 or they can be bought on ebay

Is cheaper to factory order at point of ordering - but still possible to add to your order unless build date is confirmed.

All Karoq's get a spare wheel well, but depending on their configuration depends on what it's filled with.

Without the spare wheel option your wheel well will be set up for storage, an empty polystyrene bowl.

Too fit a spare wheel securely you'll need the plastic threaded bar and securing nut ( the recepticle for the threaded bar is still there even on models that left the factory without a spare wheel), plus the reshaped polystyrene parts to surround the spare wheel and to house the jack, wheel brace, locking wheel nut key, wheel bolt cap removal tweezers etc.

As mentioned above all this is available in the UK from any franchised Skoda retailer.

The wheel, tyre and peripherals are all extra.

just picked our  my20 up and dealer quote for the lot  is £260.00

For my Karoq SE the full size 17" alloy spare + tools etc was factory fitted for £250 in December 2018, it raises the floor level to give a drop of a couple of inches.

Thanks for the replies think I'm going to follow a DIY tutorial on here to make my own and buy a space saver etc off ebay.

That's what I did with our SEAT. Adding spre wheel may have been cheaper as factory order but it meant I'd have a 16 week delivery rather than 4week it took for a bog standard car.  Checked out Gumtree, somone was selling a brand new spare saver for a Audi - same size. It also came with the polysyrene tool holder insert but no tools. Wheel cost £60, tools off gumtree cost £5 and I bought the plastic screw fastener for £6 off parts department.  I just cut the poly insert and now I have a spare + tools + compressor + gunk all neatly packed inside the spare wheel.   I can have two punctures and still get home :giggle:
