If you have a parking place / driveway and an outdoor plug point / EV charger & wind deflectors to be able to leave the window open a little a Green House heater in the car set at a couple of degrees above freezing when when parked keeps the glass inside and out frost free, the locks / handles working and uses very little electricity.

Jings crivens help ma boab. That looks incredibly dangerous. I may leave a heater on in the greenhouse overnight but in a car? Err no.

No this is Scotland.

Correction. For those not familiar with the geography of our country, the above should read " No, this is Tayside".  They're a funny bunch up there, tight fisted and famed for growing fruit. Root has just shown his true colours by combining both.  :giggle:

@Scot5

Don't do it then.   Carry on with your door handle issue.

Really are people living in campers and caravans at a greater risk than we know from gas heaters.

Cheeky monkey.  Weegie most likely.

The this is Scotland refers to various places a bit higher and further north than just Tayside.

It's a car not a campervan. Campervans have to go thru regulations.  For heavens sake, there should be no need to introduce an internal heater to defrost a door handle. Been buying cars in Scotland since 70's, never needed a greenhouse heater to date.

On your bike.   It is not door handles, just the glass for going out night time without disturbing people firing up and defrosting

Mine is a van.  Previously a pickup.

My sensible advice would be to build a garage if you have the space next to your house (unless you rent or live in a block of flats of course).:bandit:Weather update down to -10C in parts of Scotland tonight a bit warmer down here in the Midlands.:nod:

You cant build garages just anyplace you might be at any old time. Little use at campsites or the likes.

Have handles frozen on other folks cars? What do you do to release it?

Urinate on it, obviously. :)

This dude was very committed to getting his car in for winter. Either that or he really hated the dentist.

@Scot5

What was your post to start this thread about then, and where was your car, was it Glasgow?

Use your loaf.

@shyVRS245 Thinks you should build a garage.

Please not that song again..........:bandit:

Its a bit off doing it at an ASDA 24 hour filling station with CCTV.  But with Fabia Mk2's it can be necessary to get the fuel flap open.
