Fan air distribution on auto setting

Featured Replies

When climate control is set to auto I get no air coming in from the two center vents on the dash either side of the infotainment unit, the two outer vents are working ok, if I manually select the airflow to the dash then the air comes in just fine from all 4 dashboard vents. Is this normal or do I have an issue?

I tried setting the temperature to their extremes in hot and cold to see if it made any difference but there was no change.

Always - or just on a cold, damp morning, when the system may be “automatically” diverting air to the front and side windows?

Always it would seem, the car was at running temperature

I,ve been monitoring over a few days

That's  normal. Need to go manual for centre vents. Talking of manual see  page 112.

Oh, ok - Appreciated, thank you

If it's not a fault then I'll just work around it

It’s cold, so the car sends warm air to the lower vents. Heat rises. In the summer it sends cool air to the top vents.

I'm used to all vents working in auto mode and I can shut off ones that I don't require. As long as I don't have a fault that requires a trip to the dealers then I'll learn to live with it

I know that mine does blow through the centre vents when it needs to (eg in summer when cooling), but today I made a point of checking.

After about 10 miles, climate set on “auto” and the car thoroughly warmed through, there was absolutely nothing coming through the central vents, and just a gentle whisper through the outer dash vents.  All quite correct, it seems.

But problem with this way of heating is; rear vent feed by front center vents, so by not sending hot air to front center vents there is no hot air from the rear vent. So no usage of it at winter.

I think all the heating and cooling works very fine on Auto settings both at the summer and winter. No complaints at all.

The rear vents are more use in the summer for cooling down rear passengers, blowing at their face. During the winter I'd imagine the floor vents are going to be more effective with heat rising.

Exactly.  The system automatically gets the passengers comfortably warm, rather than annoying them with warm air in their faces!

I was surprised how efficient the floor vents are in Kodiaq. The other day did some work outside, gloves totally wet. Threw them to the rubber floor mat at the back. After some time when i reached home the gloves were dry as ever. Never happened in my previous cars.

That's cos' they're massive! 😂

Massive and Ugly. If you gave me an old milk bottle and a blunt penknife I could make a better job than Skoda did.

Fortunately I get very rarely so drunk (as a passanger of course) to have a chanche for a close look.

I stuck some cheap tat over Skoda's cheap tat...
