vcds v vcp

Featured Replies

Hi there

I'm new here so can someone explain the difference between vcds & vcp ? also can I switch on Dynamic lighting by any of them or are those things optional extras?

Could you also tell me what price I should be paying to have the stop/start function switched off and the door locked while engine is running.

Skoda L & K 17 plate petrol

Thank you

No, u can't just enable dynamic lighting.

U need different headlight units - SLA ones.

Then u need different AFS slave modules for each headlight.

Then u need vcds to code changes.

Then u need vcp/odis to load new parameters.

VCP and VCDS are vastly different beasts.  VCP can get into places where VCDS can't, and hence is crazy expensive and usually only available at dealers.

VCDS and ObdEleven are comparable.

U can't say the same for VCDS vs VCP.

wow you guys know your stuff.

I appreciate it

Thank you

VCP isn’t dealer software, yes it can do more than VCDS, but it’s not as user friendly, also it doesn't have anywhere near the level of support VCDS has.

Prices are about the same but VCP has yearly subscriptions for updates where VCDS offer free updates for life.

my apologies - @Gizmo is correct regarding the VCP.

i got my wires crossed with ODIS.
