Superb 2019 - Traffic Jam assit

Featured Replies

Hello

sorry if this has been asked before, I cna't find the answer..

I have a 2019 Superb with traffic jam assit, when I'm following a car and it stops, my car stops too automatically, problem is that when the car in front of me resumes it's way, I have to tap the gas pedal to resume the driving, is there any configuration to make this automatic, or the system requires me to tap the gas pedal always?

thanks!

That’s how it works,

pulling the ACC stalk towards you will do the same thing as tapping the throttle pedal.

Thanks.

it’s a bit of a disappointment, car is si smart and it does not resume automatically. I guess it’s a safety thing, but I do not really get why can’t be done.

thanks!

@poseido it resumes automaticlyi thinh until  there is ingo ACC is active on dash... i teaks 1-2 secifyou stopsfor a longertimeit requiores to touch pedal/ACC stalk, mayby ther is  and option  in VCDS to make this "pause' longer i do not know have not investigated that but migh be the only optipon if possible.

I don't think I completely understand you, English it's not my first language.

do you mean that if there is a shorter pause than 2 seconds, it resumes autiomatically, but when it's longer I need to press the gas pedal? and that *might* be a option trough VAGcom to change this?

thanks!

P.D. Still, if anyone knows the reason behind this behaviour (not automatically resume when hardware and logi is there), please fell free to comment!

Yes. It will need prompting via pedal or stalk if stationary for a few seconds. Oddly stop/start will restart the engine when the car in front pulls away so not sure why ACC doesn’t resume afterwards, without intervention.

Well, seems that I had my first bubble burst with the superb... this feature I (wrongly) understood it was including on the tragic han assist...

I don’t imagine it’s a technical issue, it has to be with someone deciding not to allow it due (most probability) liability issues.  Hope someone find the way to activate it trough vagcom

thanks!

3 secs exactly.

If within 3 secs, the car will resume with no intervention.

If more than 3 secs, u must tap, or pull, to resume.

I do not understand the logic behind it... What’s the difference between a 3 sec jam or a 5 sec, for the car to behave differently?

no idea wat logic was used to determine the 3 sec rule.

i've tried long & wide, to find if there is a way to change (via vcds) the 3 secs to something like 5 or 10 secs - but no luck thus far 😞

You don't have TJA, you have ACC stop + go. Do you have Lane Assist enabled with Adaptive Lane Guidance?

IME it makes no difference. I have TJA (Lane Assist and Adaptive Lane Guidance enabled) and the three second rule still applies.

Having Lane Assist keep on under 65kph is the telltale sign you've got TGA from my experience. If it does, the three second rule shouldn't apply.

Sorry but that just isn't the case. I have LA and ALG permanently enabled and even when active under 65kph (or even 10kph) the three second rule still applies, at least in my car.

yeah, my care follows the car in front and keeps lanes at any speed.

I definitely have TJA, and the 3 sec rule definitely exists.
