Gps/maps frozen.

Featured Replies

Hi

I have an Amundsen+ with V4 maps.

The sat nav has frozen at one location.

I have done a factory reset, bought a second GPS antenna to test it and it's still frozen.

Has anyone had issues with the v4 version freezing?

If I upgrade to v9 will this fox the issue.

Also is there anyway to do a hard reset?

Thanks

Franky

Try press and hold the power button.  It *should* eventually reboot; release the button when you see the splash screen.

Also do you know if the splash screen come on every time you turn it on, as this one goes straight to the radio screen. So I'm just unsure if it is fully powering off and not draining my battery. (This wasn't the original stereo)

On mine the Skoda splash screen shows for a few seconds every time on start up, then the screen goes to where it was when you switched off (except for the Nav which never goes back to the map, always the Nav home-screen).  Also if it is returning to Nav then there is a few seconds delay with message something like "Navigation is starting up, please wait"

That's strange, mine just goes straight to where it left off with no splash screen, I have 2008 pre facelift Fabia, I have used a Skoda canbus converter (5j0035751) and i have the Bluetooth function working and can make calls and the clock is synced and it turns on/off with the ignition. I'm just a bit skeptical if it is shutting down properly as Ive heard a few things about battery drain :s

Mine is a factory fit in a 2013 Roomster but should be similar; I don't have Bluetooth.  It turns on with the ignition as soon as the key is turned but doesn't turn off until I take the key out - so when I switch off the ignition all the way anti-clockwise the Amundsen stays on. Then when I take the key out of the ignition the Amundsen switches off, the doors unlock and the interior lights come on.

I can also switch it on with no key in the ignition  by pushing the on/off but in this case it auto shuts down about 20 minutes after you last adjust any control.

...If it has frozen, have you tried disconnecting the earth lead from the battery for five mins or so?

This might then allow the system to re-boot when you reconnect it. worth a try as its free!

You will also then have to re-set the auto-close/open function of the windows but thats still free.

Hi

Can anyone tell me where the gps maps are stored on a 2014 Yeti, is it a SD card or CD but where is it located thanks.

if theres no SD card in the front of the unit, then they must be on the hard drive of the unit, there is no CD for Nav
