Featured Replies

Hi....

URGENT HELP....

i'm in Australia and few moments ago my Yeti start giving me problems.

Call roadside assistance and the report from the fault it is:

"RAA gave report : Transmission DSG fault. Code P2841 present, drives and holds 1st gear before neutraling and revving high."

Any ideas? Anyone got same problem? if yes how much would cost the repair? just for me to have one idea cause I am not swimming in money...

Skoda Yeti front wheel drive engine petrol 1.2 Turbo year 2012  DSG gearbox automatic with 6 or 7 speed???

The yellow engine light always on and top right corner showing D1 and changing between D1 and an wrench 🔧 symbol.

I don't trust very much those guys from road assistance so I'm asking if someone else had the same problem...

I'll gonna Upload photos cause video more than 10MB.

Thanks for any help or suggestion.

This fault codes appears to point to either the TCM (Transmission Control Module) or the transmission assembly (the DSG's shift fork).

There are two electric motors used to shift the gears in the transmission, one for gears 1-3-5 and one for gears R-2-4-6. The gear shifting is made by two shift drums connected to the shift motor pinion via two ideal gears. The motors are integrated in the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and work independently of each other.

P2841 Possible Causes

- Outdated Transmission Control Module (TCM) program (Reprogram TCM)

- Faulty Transmission Control Module (TCM)

- Faulty Transmission Assembly

Either way, this fix is going to require someone with a decent level of knowledge of the VAG DSG gearbox.

UPDATE....
THE Codes from the mechanic shop are different from the one's from roadside assistance!
Mechanic side and report says ”carried out computer code inspection, finding P173d position sensor for gear selector implausible signal intermittent with transmission oil black in colour.
Vehicle has no reverse and slight drive with fault code and black oil.”

Battery has failed the load test and requires replacement.
Any ideas help???

Fit a new battery and then re-test.
Like my "problems" this seems it could be another of the things that a failing battery may cause.

Welcome.

Your car was part of the World Wide Recall on DQ200 DSG which are 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch boxes.

Your car should have been in for the Synthetic Oil to be replace with Mineral & a Software update sometime since 2012.

?

Was it done. Or is it outstanding.

A Dealership can check or Skoda Australia or there will be a VIN Checker on RECALLS in Australia.

There is a new recall going on now in Australia as well.

Not any help with your current situation, but to let you know that Skoda Australia should know all about the issue you have as so should any Roadside Assistance responder.
