Gas pedal question

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm a recent owner of a skoda.

I drove 2 units, my current Superb 2020 and a Kodiak 2019. in both I feel like the gas pedal has a long... "starting" place.

lets say that I have to push it for 15% to get the car moving a little. on my past BMW the response was just with the tip of my foot, 1% already moved the car, 15% felt like rushing it.

is this behaviour something I can change?

It is normal unfortunately. You can change the response settings using VCDS (or similar app based coding) or you can buy a pedal box.

There is a vcds tweak about engine/gaspedal response. See the vcds topic. There are mixed results. But for me it works. I also had the problem you mentioned. The response was too slow. Now its more direct. So less pedal travel for the same engine response.

Yes, the old "Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Screaming towards the horizon!" pedal response :giggle:

Pedal box is the answer. Transforms the response.

Thanks, I essentially aware of this device.

it bugs me quite a lot to have to spend 200€ on a device that makes the car behave like.. a normal car.

Providing it’s a company lesson I think I must adapt to the car....

I have a DSG auto 1.5tsi petrol Superb 2019.  On collection, the throttle response was rubbish.  Someone advised me that the throttle sensors could be reset, and it immediately became satisfactory.  They advised to:   Switch off.  Switch ignition on.  Slowly press and release the throttle pedal three times.  Switch off.  Then start car as normal.  All I can say is that I have done this three times over the past 6 months and each time it has made a noticeable difference, so it must be substantially correct!
