Stopping a laptop auto logging off with no use

Featured Replies

My laptop has some kind of feature that when the laptop is off for around 2 hours+ it auto locks itself and turns off (and stops folding)

Any idea where I can go to sort this out please? Its running XP of some derivative. Not sure where any settings are to make sure it never auto logs off. :)

Control Panel - Power options.

aha! In which case hopefully my "playing" earlier will result in a full night's folding. Its amazingly quiet running though @ 80% - It barely makes a noise.

Looking at the other thread - it seems you may just have a password protected screensaver - is the power really off?

It's worth locking the laptop when you're not present - it's an automatic thing for me here at work Windows-L (XP & W2K3 only for that shortcut) when I'm off for a cuppa etc.

Wouldn't be the first time a joker sent an email to someone with content that shouldn't have been sent, etc etc, or post under a logged in account on a forum ;)

:D I know where you're coming from, but I've already been sent a piccie this week, entitled "need help identifying bird" - and it features a small duck on a lake with a red circle round it, and a topless woman in the foreground with the largest jugs I have EVER seen. Now if that got past "security"...

I feel client confidentiality is more of a concern, and we've had builders in recently, so we have to take care what we're showing on the laptop screens, and whats visible on the desks. :) (like the undying "I want you back" love letter I found in one clients paperwork  )
