Bolero MIB1

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got and Octavia RS -13 with the Bolero MIB1.

I was wondering is there anyway to get Android Auto on that radio? Or is my only option in that case to buy a new unit ?

MIB2 upgrade is what you need. There is apparently a product that can do AA on the MIB1 but it’s just as expensive as a MIB2 and you will gain other features with the MIB2 and it will be 100% reliable as factory.

Allright, thank you!

If I do it myself, is it just plug n play or is it more complicated?

More complicated although very achievable.

1. Purchase new glovebox unit and screen.

2. Install all kit and take to dealer to remove component protection on glovebox unit.

3. Remove and send glovebox unit off to @pab567 for reworking (may need to send old unit with it).

4. Refit unit and enjoy new features.

Ps. Component protection only on glovebox unit. Screen is just a screen.
