Best Dab option

Featured Replies

Hi, just bought a 2013 Octavia VRS, can anyone recommend a Dab unit to put into it, as the original only has FM and AM, is there a unit that is easy to change out. Would be handy if it would support  reversing camera as well as I would like to fit that as well.

Thank you

It’s going to be costly I’m afraid as all MIB swaps require dealing with component protection removal and feature hacking. If you want to do it, may as well go from MIB1 to 2 but the 5Q0035874A once awesome cost effective MIB solution can’t be reworked like it used to, VAG have finally caught on so which ever way you go, budget at least £700 GBP for replacement MIB coded and ready and 8 inch screen. Part numbers you can use include MIB2 Amundsen 2017 5Q0035874B, MIB2.5 Amundsen 2018 5Q0035874C, MIB2 Columbus 3V0035020, 3V0035021, MIB2.5 Columbus 565035020, 565035021 and a few more. Screen size is 8 inches for Amundsen and MIB2 Columbus (5E0919605M 8 inch glass FL Amundsen or 5E0919606 8 inch PFL Columbus) or for MIB2.5 Columbus 9.2 inches (5E0919606D).

Thank you, I searched on ebay and loads of optiond aroud £200 came up and said they fitted the car, I guess from your reply they dont. Ill maybe see if I can get a Dab tuner I am sure they can be fitted seperately...Not paying £700 thats not worth it, ill just have to learn to sing 😀😀

They will fit but that’s not including making the radio unit work or the screen.
