KESSY

Featured Replies

Hi all , been noticing it takes longer for me to start the car pressing the start stop button. I changed the key fob battery but still taking a few , sometimes up to ten pushes and holds.

Now , the question is. What if my battery in the key was dead. How the hell would you start the car , no place for the key to go into. Or is there somewhere to insert the key.

Should I have the dealer look at the start prob or is this just inherent of the system?

I believe that if your key battery is `dying` (or maybe even if its `dead`) if you hold the key next to the start button it'll fire up. You then need to think about changing your key battery.

That said, sounds like you may have a different problem with `multi-push` starting.

Could be your engine start/ stop buttons faulty, there’s been a few reported in this section and the Octavia section.

Or could it be your glow plugs have failed or are failing.

I'll just leave that poser for you but don't worry as it is easily solved!

+1.  Also if your key fob battery is low then you get an audible/visual amber warning.

Defo sounds like an issue with the engine stop/start button
